Among Sonoma’s locals, it sometimes seems that we are as well known for our radio ads as for our food. As the tag says, “At Mary’s Pizza Shack, even the commercials are homemade.” For over a decade, Mary’s great-grandson Vincent has been the voice of Mary’s on the radio, with other members of the extended family taking on roles alongside our young radio talent. Over the years, our audience heard Vincent grow up, and in 2011, it became clear that Vincent’s role as a “the Meatball Kid” had to end; he had grown from a little boy who couldn’t read into a teenager.
A new sidekick was found in another of Mary’s great-grandchildren, Vincent’s young cousin, Luigi, with occasional cameo appearances by Vincent’s sister, Isabella. Together, we expect Vincent and Luigi to continue to be the voices of Mary’s, at least until there’s a great-great-grandchild to take on the role.
Some of our favorite radio spots can be heard below. Remember that these span our history; they’ll talk about menu items and promotions that aren’t currently available.
